Whilst heading to the eastern shore i stopped at spsp to check out the water. With v lil wind i launched for the bay bridge about 4pm. I fished until 7:45, catching lots of spot, wp, croakers, and just-under stripers. The ultralight reel started singing while casting into one of the 8-paks, then the line snapped. Baitfish started almost joining me in the kayak at one point, so I cast some Gulp 3"grubs and wham, future keeper stripers were on my hook. Everything was tossedback. There should be a law against going 80mph in a boat, 40 ft from someone who isfishing in a kayak. Moron alsoalmost crashed into bridge concrete support and then another boat who was roaring out away from spsp. I saw another near mishap between 2 boats. The DNR rescue boats raced south from spspatound 6-ish. They hadnt returned when I was leaving. I'm hoping everything is ok.

Thanks for the report. It sounds like you had some interesting fishing, except for the clueless boaters. Yesterday morning when I crossed the bridge, I could see large waves near the bridge. Any boats that were moving at the time were bouncing and throwing a lot of spray. But by late morning, the wind dropped and the seas flattened.John Veil
