SPSP 09-04-2013 Nothing exciting…

My first trip to the Bridge.
Got out pretty early at the boat launches… a bit chilly. As my first trip to the park
I was pleasantly impressed… not very many people.. Only 3 other people launching at around 7am, I was the only kayak… but on the water there were two others early, and some more came out.

Thanks for the report. I am always amazed at how a bluefish knows how to bite everything but the hook.

Additionally, nice report, Rob, even if you don't catch your targeted fish. A good trip like yours includes a safe outing, positive interacting w/ others even if they aren't paddling, bonus if they share bait with you when you need it but havent asked for it, a learning experience, landing something in your lap even if it's baitfish, and not dropping any gear into the drink. Thx for your report!

seriously, i have a picture of a bunker i had THREE hooks on the damn thing, nose, back and bottom of tail, damn blues bit it up where i then had 3, 1"chunk baits on the hook.

LOL, I had the same thing happen to me! I let a small slack for 20 seconds and half of the fish was gone! He missed my hook too.

Even using mullet rigs in the surf snapper and cocktail size blues are amazingly good at avoiding getting the hook stuck!
