Sensing the snakehead season will soon be drawing to a close I decided to spend a full day on the water. I arrived at sunrise and paddled out during high tide to a beautiful orange-hued morning. After rounding a sharp curve I startled a large family of ducks followed by an even larger flock of geese. The fishing action during the falling tide was hot and heavy. Bass were super shallow and were chasing a frog with reckless abandon. The fishing slowed around slack tide then picked up once more at incoming. Most fish were stationed at choke points and were ambushing bait fish entering and leaving the flats. Snakehead activity was completely shut off, possibly due to the weather shift with the cold front. A lone catfish was landed on a finesse worm during slack tide.
