On tuesday I fished(made a few casts) as the sun was setting. Since I left my weights in the car I drifted my hi/low rig with worms and I caught my 1st black drum... Twas just a baby. Then I casted from the bulkhead for a half hour and after unsnagging numerous snags My rod bent over and something big splashed near the surface...then my line went limp.

On wed I went back in my kayak,4pm til sunset... I didnt let the windy conditions stop me as I wanted to fish. I casted around I drifted and casted Gulp and worms and zippo. As the sun was getting low baitfish started busting the water. I cast Gulp towards them and I had 3 screaming reels within minutes....and 3 snapped lines... Dunno what fish broke the line as I never saw them.. I'm guessing blues. Peeps at a bait shop afterwards said the surf in the ocean is where all the action is. I still had fun being on the water. I will change tactics on thursday.

That sounds exciting. If you are getting breakoffs every trip from large fish, you could consider heavier line or a stronger leader. I hope you get some of those bigger fish and can report back for us.

Or just new line, some people don't realize that their mono should be changed out every year.

You're better off dropping straight down or near so from the bulkhead when the current is moving to avoid snags. During slack you can usually throw out and not get hung up as much.
