Had a great couple of hours. The cats were a little bigger. I gave them to the older gentleman that was kind enough to take my picture. He wasn't catching anything from the bank. Gorgeous day. I have some left in my freezer and I wanted to take a nice trip towards the 301 bridge. I didn't make it all the way down though. My mom mailed some sonny's super sticky catfish bait. Stuff is like tar, and works great. A little but of a pain to use, but once you get used to it, it is fine. I keep a cut off plastic bottle in the cup holder and use a plastic knife to apply the bait, then put the knife in the cup till I'm ready to use it again.

Nice work! If you get tired of dealing with that sticky catfish bait, try chicken breast chunks, the cats love it!

I will give it a try next time out and see which works best. The sticky, stinky stuff draws them in....but the chicken breast would mean my wife could actually bait her own hook

Another guy told me chicken tenders work well too....not sure if they were raw or cooked (a la McDonalds)...

my fav is fresh caught white perch. fresh mummichog, too. I also like to use a "fish bomb" once i am set up where I want in order to stir up the local population!

I've only caught 2 perch. That was at the last M&G. I wouldn't mind trying them. I imagine they are similar to a crappie. As for a mummichog, no idea what that is...guess I will be googling that next.

Nice catch clm! I have given a few fish away to shore fisherman...some look like they were needing a meal. It's a rewarding feeling
