Went out Saturday About 1pm and caught two pickerel 20 and 23 inches. Some skim ice in the back under the bridge otherwise clear. Water conditions exceptional.

Thanks for the report. Did you catch them close up on shore right on structure? I tried Weems last tuesday with JHoss and he caught one while I got skunked on my first attempt at pickerel. And what did they bite on for you?2013 Yellow Hobie Outback

Nice get um while you can, that water is going to be hard froze real soon with all the cold ahead of us. I fished out of there thursday and had to cut through about 15 yds of 1/4" ice right off the ramp. Luckily it wasnt nearly as bad everywhere else. I managed only one snall pickerel in weems but did better in other creeks up river.Comment

Weems was more productive this morning. I caught three pickerel and another guy who launched at the same time as me also got three. I have more details in my post about the maiden voyage of my new kayak.John Veil
