  • 2014 Hobie Pro Angler maiden voyage

I picked up my new 2014 Hobie Pro Angler 14 from Dennis at Backyard Boats yesterday after work. I put in at Jonas Green today around noon. J A Veil was also putting in at the same time so we fished together for a few hours. I was worried that all of the good mojo was left behind on my old kayak, but my first fish was a personal best pickerel 23 1/2 inches. John and I both caught 4 fish before he headed in. I ended up with 6 pickerel from 17 1/2 - 23 1/2 inches. 3 of the fish were over 21 inches. All of my fish were caught on various soft plastics and John caught his on live minnows. The new Pro Angler rides just like the 2011, but the seat on the new Pro Angler is very comfortable and the play in the steering is adjustable on the fly.

That was a good way to break in your new ride.

Wow! That first pickerel had a strange body shape.
