  • When to fish for which fish?

I was trying to plan my fishing year and wanted to know if and when various species were available in the bay to deconflict my normal fresh water fishing and I came across this site.http://www.chesapeakebay.net/fieldgu.../category/fish
I thought it would be helpful for us newbies.

Thanks for posting. That is a fairly thorough listing of fishes in the Bay drainage. Nice pictures too. The only fish left off the list is the gizzard shad. Many new shad fishermen can't always tell the difference between the American, hickory and gizzard shads.

      That is cool.

      My saltwater winter fishing list:

      - stripers
      - yellow perch
      - pickerel

      Spring:

      - tog
      - stripers
      - white perch starting up
      - Red drum
      - Flounder starting

Summer: pretty much everything. maybe not so much tog.

      Fall:

      - stripers
      - red drum
      - speckled trout
      - tog
      - Flounder

Definitely a cool list... saw a bunch at the Baltimore aquarium a few weeks back - for me it was an impressive collection of local fish
