Has anyone ventured out to toss some shad darts? Im thinking about rolling down to fletchers if the water is at a favorable level and tossing some darts from shore to see if anything is out there. I know its about a month early but one never knows...

I snagged my first gizzard last weekend at Chain Bridge it gave me hope but the day was otherwise uneventful. Looks like it's almost time though. I like Chain Bridge when the water is high as long as you're careful. I've seen lots of nice smallmouth there when the water is super high after a big storm like this. Also, tried to fish some holes near great falls for whatever was biting but nada.www.anglerswithoutborders.com

Here's a link to a thread on a Potomac forum that explains the river stages at Little Falls and Fletchers.

I use the USGS real time stream conditions page to monitor the rivers that I fish, http://waterwatch.usgs.gov/new/index...eal&r=md&w=map. I have learned what conditions suit me best. When the rivers are at those conditions, that is when I go fishing. Anyone interested in fishing flowing rivers and streams should consult the web page before traveling to a river only to find that it is high and muddy. I have the web pages for the areas that I fish saved on favorites, so that they are only a click away.
I put the Maryland page on here. If you go back a few steps to the water flow conditions, you can select other states.
