Have a Wilderness Systems Ride 135 rigged up with a Humminbird. Too long with the yak sitting in the garage and I plan to get out and get after it this year. Setups for both salt and fresh and getting ready to get after it when the water gets just a tick warmer. Glad to have somewhere to go and learn and vent and study and get help.

Welcome aboard! Which Humminbird do you have? What fish do you target most often...or are you happy with whatever bites a hook?

Definitely happy to have a bite of whatever I can get on the line, though I am a saltwater guy at heart. My Humminbird is a 170 which I rigged in myself with a transducer mounted on a swing-out arm mounted to my railings.

I had a Humminbird 170 on my first kayak, it's a good unit. I grew up freshwater fishing, still trying to figure out the salt. Haven't been on the bay yet, but certainly intend to. This summer I want to get to the coast for some flounder and whatever else fishing.

Sad thing for me..... the Bay is about four houses down from me- my street deadends right into it, but there is adrop off that makes it tough to splash my yak. Have a few unfriendly people at the end who could grant me quick access, but they wont. Had my yak for a year and a half, splashed it once (3 kids make it tough as well). Gonna rectify that this year.

That sucks, too bad you don't have better neighbors.

I was all gung ho when I first got my yak. Spent a lot of time rigging it and buying gear and prepping for my grand dreams of kayak fishing excellence- but it fizzled quickly. Planning on going back after it again now. Honestly, I didnt even remember registering and I was trying to register when it said my email was already in use- so I had to reset everything and start from scratch.

Well then, let's get you on the water and get this fixed.

I've got a wife and two daughters, my youngest loves to fish so I have a partner on the kayak. I'm going to get her a kayak as soon as I can.

Just gonna make Management (my wife) have to deal with em more, and even occasionally take one along.

ha ha.....better than auctioning them off. Good management can really help a fisherman out...of course a day out with the family is awesome too!
