As I write this we just had a severe t storm that dropped almost 2 inches we had one yesterday but not as severe. I am considering seeing if we can get everyone on board for maybe the 3rd week of June . The river still on Sunday was ripping even for a power boat . Last year we fished a bunch of times in may with a kayak so frustrating . A dozen or so yaks at the same time floating that stretch can be great fun and great fishing . Actually the fish are there if you can get to them . Hopefully folks will chime in with response to this post.

Sounds like a plan. Give it some time to settle in. I'll be there whatever weekend, really enjoyed the trip last year.

I'm good with pushing it off. I'll probably go drag some worms around the Tridelphia flats again this weekend.

I cant get off two Saturdays in a row so I'm sorry but for that reason alone I'm out for the 17th. I have that part of the Potomac as one of the spots on my kayak fishing bucket list spots to fish... one day soon...y'all be safe on the 17th

NOAA has the gauge at Point of Rocks going over 5 feet on Friday. Did not seem like that much rain here in Gaithersburg but I guess the area that really matters is up north and how much rain dropped up there.

By the way, the third Saturday of June (06/21/14) is also the same day as the MAKBF Tournament (out of Point of Rocks).

Anyone been to the big slackwater area? Above dam 4.
              Current heavy? Brown water?

The 3rd week of June works for me, I think it's Saturday is the 21st?
It stinks that the weather's been bad but it's worth seeing this through even if it's not in May. It's one of the most pleasurable river trips I'm MD when the weather's cooperative.

My opinion is that Upper Potomac Meet and Greet events should take place in July, August, September, or October. Spring time has too many high water events.

                    • I was hoping may would not be a problem ,but when voting took place at our meeting for dates of meet and greets that is where we ended up, would have preferred June July .but we will make it work somewhere.
. However as Dave said the water is again high and the prediction for Saturday is now 12 feet crazy .
I suggested the 3rd sat in June but Dave reminded me there is the bass tourney that weekend so how about the last Saturday the 28 th of June . Late June is a pretty month on the river the camping arrangements and BBQ remain the same .
Please contact me if that seems OK to you folks . I am more frustrated than anyone the river is in my backyard and I can't even sneak a day to get out in a kayak. Rich
