Love Point

Went out at 6 this morning for a few hours in the Love PT area off of Kent Island. Fished in 8-20ft of water, saw a few marks on the ff, but ended up getting skunked. Fished a 1/2oz chartreuse bucktail with 5inch electric chicken swim shad. Spoke to some people fishing from a boat and they weren't catching either. I figured if striped bass were being caught in the Severn, that they would be off Love PT by now as well.

If anyone has has fished the area recently and caught something let me know what your tactics were, it would be appreciated.

I will give a mothers day report! My girls parents wont be in until noon so I have all morning to hook up with a few. If its been like my last few outings then I wont be disappointed!

The map did help I must say! only was able to fish one of the locations you gave me though, my dad and I paddled from jonas green to back creek to fish, and then on the way back hit the oyster bed before going in for the day

Hit the Severn this morning and caught a few fish trolling the same bucktail/shad combo. Largest fish was a fat 25 incher, lost a fish that fought about 3 times harder. Based off of how hard it pulled on a tight drag setting, I would estimate it to be 30 plus. Overall it was a great trip.

Where do you launch to fish love point?

I am fortunate to have access to private property to launch from. There is an old boat ramp near Cloverfields community that is closed, but still possible to launch from. Im not sure if you are allowed to put in there, but I have a few times with no problem before gaining access closer to LP.
