I remember fishing from the road near the ramp around 15 years ago and the lake was crystal clear, not so anymore. Thanks to wfauby for helping me out with my first kayak trip to this deep lake and sharing his techniques and lures, it was much appreciated! It was also good to run into Berto out on the water. I ended up with a couple small bass and an aggressive sunfish. wfauby had a few nice bass and stayed out longer than me, hopefully he got more. I bailed when the downpour started, I was very happy to be in the Moken and not the SINK!

When the hydrilla grows in (should start to sprout in the next couple of weeks) the lake has a tendency to get clearer and clearer. The grass acts like a filter and the roots trap the bottom sediment from getting stirred up by wind and wave action.
