Friday when I arrived with my family it was pretty windy and the lady in the check in told us tomorrow(Saturday) they were excepting gusts of 25mph(was previously ~10) which was a bummer, but we headed out after setting up camp to fish for a while. We stopped along the beach at Cornfield Harbor to hang out for a bit so I threw out a line with a white perch filet on it. Let it sit of a while and as I went to bring it in it started taking off. Basically spoiled me in less than a minute. Never saw it but i think it was a sting ray just based on the sheer power of it.

Saturday morning my brother and I went out at the crack of dawn trying to beat the wind, fished for about 1/2 hour and realized we better head back.
It took everything we had just to get back. We didn't fish again Saturday but took my brothers dog out for the first ride in a kayak and he seemed to enjoy it so that was cool.

Wind was suppose to be just as bad Sunday so we packed up early and left. My Mom, Dad and I stopped at James Patterson Park on the way back. The park was packed for some kids day event but it turned out to be a good decision as immediately I hooked into another ray, got him next to my boat and he soaked me and dad before we had to cut the line. Then it was basically croaker after croaker( and a few white perch)and we each probably ended with 20+ fish by the end of the day.

It was a good trip but a bit disappointing since last year at PLO we caught striper, bluefish and flounder. That was in August though so now we know.

Nice, what kind of lure is that on the jighead?

    Sent from the water.

Sorry to hear about the wind. Lake Conoy can be worth exploring for fish when it's too windy to leave the marina area. I've found lots of puppy drum (no keepers, though) in there and some nice spot and perch.
