This has possibly been the worst year for me to find time to get on the water. Tuesday I decided to use my personal vehicle instead of the compny truck to take a jaunt to southern AA Co. Kayak loaded & rods ready I found 3+ hours to spend near the launch drifting up and down the river powered by little more than wind and tide
First fish in 3 casts across from the fishing pier jumped twice and spit the spinnerbait back in my face. a scene that would be repeated several times although I did managed to get a 3lb largemouth in the boat using a wacky worm.
All hits on the drop in or very near wooand tight to cover.
Water still had a bit of stain from recent storms maybe 1 ft visibility
Tide was exceptionally high and strong flow when it started to fall. breezes from a southerly direction if i held the west shoreline with some Easterly push if I was on the Eastern pad edge.
never ventured more than a few hundred yards from Rte4 bridge

    Zimm, or anyone,
Do you think there are snakeheads in that part of the Patuxent? Waysons/Jug Bay is in my neck of the woods and I'd like to catch a snakehead. It would be an easy place to go after work or on a whim.

      Peggy,

I don't know if there are snakehead there, but I may be going there one day next week. I have the week off. I am also going back to Mallows Bay next week - where there are snakehead (and I saw one there two weeks ago just about walking on the ground). You are quite welcome to join if you wish. I would welcome some company as I almost always go out alone.
