Good meeting you Peggy, John and SHH. Only a few white perch and spot for me, brought three of the spot home since they're good sized. Even fishing for spot was slow today.

Great to finally meet you, Cowpokey. Yes, it was a slow, non-existing fish kinda day, but it still beets going to work. I left the basil on your jeep seat.

I was wondering why there was a bag on my seat, I thought it blew in there, then I opened it up. Thanks for the basil, I'll show my wife when she gets up...she has to work tonight.

It was nice meeting everyone. Thank you John for showing me around. So far, I haven't heard much good report from Severn area. I think I'm gonna try VA beach, Eastern shore area next this summer. My freezer need a variety, all I got now are SH and some left over rainbow trouts.

It was good to meet Snakehead Hunter and Cowpokey this morning. The planned light tackle trolling trip to the river mouth took place with no perch or stripers found. I did manage to catch one cow nose ray. The conditions seemed ideal (overcast skies, little wind, moving tidal current, few power boats, no floating weeds or debris.) Pc4sun (Peggy) and I trolled more than 6 miles over exactly the route that I wanted to cover. The fish were either not there or were not biting.

After the unsuccessful trolling trip, the four of us tried casting to some of my preferred perch shorelines. The perch cooperated somewhat to keep the skunk away.

SHH and I tried the spot Raptor told me about, we each got some spot there. I didn't want to laugh, but SHH lost a spot as he went to drop one in his cooler and it went back in the water...and I did. I might get an anchor next, and a retractable pet leash...that looked really compact on his Trident.

My wife said she might make some tea with the basil, she doesn't like it for cooking; but told me to tell you thanks.

Also, while we're on the topic: Kimbap. The next time we get together, I'll see if she can make a batch to bring along.

Cowpokey, I used the basil tonight to make Pho and it was great in the soup. I looked on the seed package and it was Thai Opal Basil microgreens, which is why it is small. I will look up how to make Kimbap, as it sounds delicious.

It looks easy to me, but I've been watching her make it for almost two decades. I also thought cooking (American) breakfast was easy, and the last time I tried I failed miserably. My wife should be in the food industry, she's a great chef. Everyone that has tried her food doesn't understand how I'm skinny.

It's a good thing that fish got away, I wouldn't know what to do with it if I only caught 1.

My mom is a good cook as well. We kinda have an understanding, I catch fish and she cooks it. She also has a little garden for herb and stuff. She plants basil, mint, peppers, jalapenos, you name it. I cook once a while, maybe some fish & chips kinda food. SH makes great fish & chips btw, white flaky, no fishy.

I like Pho, but they usually put in too much cilantro, I'm one of the people that thinks it tastes like soap.

I only brought three home. I dropped them in the lunch box (cooler) since it had some ice. I left them on the stringer when I put them in, and my wife used scissors to get them off the stinger...now I need to buy a new stringer. LOL.

I love homemade pho, it taste better than store made. I usually eat it plain with only basil too. I don't like cilantro or scallion much either.

Let's do it. I will start a separate thread if others are interested as well.
