  • Smallwood SP SHs

It looked like rain yesterday but that never happened.
I got out briefly for a quick paddle & casting session & with minimal
tackle and I landed 4 snakeheads, all of them on the small side
10"-16". I encountered a few big blowups that didn't connect with my frog hooks.
All were returned to the water so you can catch them. It was a fun time
    paddling & catching.

Thanks. I was wondering how things were doing there now. Interesting on the snakeheads. I've not caught any there in my trips. Did you see any indication that the big perch were back yet? BTW, I went do to SPSP and fished the shore and bridge pilings there. Almost zero breeze, now tidal current, just a very leisurely evening. It was nice. I ended up with 6 big Spot and a couple 9 inch Perch. Also, either one very active Ray or several that were there for 2 hours. And something I haven't seen before. Something motionless with the head similar to a turtles just poking out the water about 2 inches. It was up for about 10 seconds and I couldn't make it out, so I tried to paddle closer and it disappeared. I don't think it was a turtle but I have no idea waht it could have been. And as usual for this summer just increbile swarms of small minnow like fish in that whole area.

Nice. Just point them over to the VA side for me.
