  • A Tale of Two Skunkings

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...
Skunked at Jonas Green on Friday, and Mallows Bay on Sunday.

Quite a bit of surface activity in that little cove up river of Jonas. I spent way too much time in there throwing everything in my tackle box at it. Top water, soft plastics, crank baits... I missed one big hit on plastic just before I was ready to move on, which kept me there even longer. It was like they KNEW.

No activity at all at mallows. The water looked like an algae milkshake. The whole area is choked with sub aquatic vegetation that was not there earlier in the summer.

It's not your fault. Fishing has sucked almost everywhere recently from what I've heard...and experienced.

This end of summer time period is tough for freshwater. I hit my local snakehead and bass haunts this weekend and couldn't even drop in my mirage drive there was so much slop. In another month or so things should get poppin again
