I plan on taking my kayak out Saturday AM for the fifth time since getting it a few weeks ago. I am really hooked. I was hoping to fish the flats but I have heard that it is about a 30 minute paddle from Tydings Marina. Can I put in anywhere closer? Thanks.

Tydings is on the Northwest corner of the Flats, maybe it would be 30 minute paddle going really slow? If you wanted to fish the east side of the Flats there is also Perryville community park, which may be a little less of a paddle.

Thanks for all of the advice. My friend Chris and I have decided to put in at Tydings about 5 am and fish until 9. Throwing topwater trying to get into some stripers. If anyone else is going I will be the little guy in the red Tarpon 120.Tarpon 120, no electronics, no pedals.

I fished the flats a few times during warmer weather, last time I was ( a couple of weeks ago) the water temp was 82-83 and notice dead zones on the FF. Try to find cooler water. I am launching out of Mariner Point in the AM. Unfortunately the gate does not open until 7:00am.Freddie T
