  • Heading to Occoquan 12/21

Plan on leaving at around 0800 launching around 0900. I will be targeting Crappie and if those don't bite catfish. Will be reporting how I do afterwards.

How did you do today? Mustafa, Sun and I are contemplating giving it a shot later this week if the weather cooperates. Any striper action?

I did not target striper so I don't know about that. I did manage to land over 9 fish keeping only 9 bigger ones. They were caught off of baby shad lures and red crappie tubes uploadfromtaptalk1450744095717.jpg

I might call in on Thursday, and hit some crappie at Occoquan. But it looks like rain in the pm. ..

Nice Minh! Long time buddy! I hope all is well with you.

Did you find them mostly in the same spots as usual?

It really has been a long time! Yup same spots as usual. I just finished my first semester of college so was finally able to get out a day before the bad weather hits.

They are still at around the same depth as usual maybe a little lower. I did notice more bluegill than usual.

That's great bro! We should catch up on the water for sure.

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking minnows with the coming rain... Might increase chances since visibility would be low... Maybe minnows smothered with smelly jelly! LOL [emoji4]

Minnows are definitely a foolproof plan imo!

                      Minh,
I wondered where you had been. Glad to know you are back home and fishing.
I am in NC. When I come back I will try Crappie and Yellow Perch in January.

few weeks ago, I saw anglers were catching small stripers where the dam was. I didn't target stripers that time.
