Specks in Rudee, VA up to 19” (Sep 29, 2017)

After driving 3.5 hours, I found that the wind forecast was wrong. It was too rough to launch kayak for CBBT (Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel) fishing from Chex Beach, VA. The NE wind was 17-20 knots. We gave up for CBBT fishing.

I always bring light tackles in case of the wrong wind forecast. Since I brought light tackles for specks, I went to Rudee (my backup place), VA for possible specks and puppy drums.
I wore a wader because it was cold in the morning. I caught about 16 specks. 10 of them were at 15-19". I used one lure - MirroLure 52MR 21.

Rudee saved the day again.
