Back in 2020 when I began my tour and went total mobile...
I visited Gwynn Island in late September.
For years I had looked at this area on the maps, and was
on my bucket list to visit. I was fortunate that a "campsite"
had opened up for a two week visit.
It blew northeast pretty heavy for most of the time.
But was successful on the times I got out catching Rockfish
and getting into schools of Spanish Mackerel.
After leaving the OBX (2022) in April I came back and stayed in Deltaville
for a month. Not knowing what to expect and fishing different locations
than in 2020... I was successful with a few Rocks, and lots of Specs.
While the drone videos may, or may not be where I caught fish,
they do give some insight to opportunities, and the landscape.
On each video there is Lat and Long to the locations of the launches.
If perhaps you wish to explore.
On my last day fishing late May, I caught 14 Specs.. and by that time...
our ol' mischief.. the Cownose Ray had moved in big time... hundreds of them.
So much that I was very worried I would run over one with the Torqueedo.
The drone flights are usually about 20 minutes... I cut them down
to about two minutes so not to bore ya'll. And then I speed many
parts by 200%, so it may appear choppy at times...
Deltaville is wonderful place to visit, or live for that matter.
Don't expect an Harris Teeter, or Whole Foods. Foodlion is
thirty minutes away. There is a great local seafood shop, I highly recommend.
The local grocery store is adequate.
I describe it as where there are more sailboats and yachts than
the indigenous population. And the hardware store is
closed down for lunch between 12pm and 1pm every day.
