Big Specks Just Arrived in Rudee, VA, 10/28/2022

The wind in mid-Atlantic of America has been bad for anglers. It's been 20 MPH , gust up to 40+MPH for several days. I learned that big specks (speckled sea trout) haven't shown up in Rudee, VA.

They were late this year. All (few) anglers didn't catch any keeper fish that day, at all.

I started seeing some sighns of fish after 2 PM. It was tough to locate a small school of the large speck and locate them when the school moved. I managed to find specks up to 25", along with a 24" puppy drum (redfish).

Finally, specks are in Rudee. Get them now. They will be gone in a few weeks.

Dang Joe - those specks were great size! I’ve hooked into some near that deeper water there before too. They are often suspended there. Shrimp should be good bait as crabs start to be less active.

I bet you miss VA Beach area. It is hard to be skunked there. I just bought A 4lb box of shrimp (50-60 count) - getting ready for tog, puppy and speck.

Yup - miss fishing there a bunch - especially a 15 minute drive to fish!! Hard to get a good weather window lately.
