I had a small window of fishing on Feb 05, 2023. I got to keep my wife happy on some weekends (Actually, I couldn't/wouldn't fish Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel for tautog because of the strong wind and a sudden water temp drop that weekend).
Also, I wanted to cook striper for her since I haven't fished for striper for a long time. So, I went to Lake Anna, Dike 3 where the water is warm (hot water discharge from a power plant).
All I want was one keeper striper over 20".
There was no bird active, and no water surface actions. There weren't bait balls at all in the early morning. Though, I found 2 schools of stripers that were just cruising. I landed two at 17" and 20.5". I came home happily after that.
