Past 4 months, I spent time with family and grand kids only, not for my usual fishing. I was loaded with work for knowledge transfer before my retirement. So I had no time for my usual fishing at all.
On November 25, 2024, I finally fished my beloved CBBT. I was tipped by my friend about many good size puppy drum and pesky toadfish and sea bass. So, I brought 5.5 dozens of the 50-60 count shrimp. I used the half shrimp except the first cast when I sensed many toadfish and sea bass. So I used over 120 baits that day.
My and my wife's friends were waiting for fresh fish (especially tautog) that day. I was determined to fish as long as my body could take.
For 7 hours, I caught over 25 tautog. 4 tautog were keepers @18-20". I caught 5 puppy drum @24-27". I kept 3 Puppies under 26".
I also kept 2 black sea bass (my wife's favorite) @13-14".
