Had an awesome outing with the Tidewater HOW Chapter at the Smithfield ponds. We were afforded the chance to get on the water at dawn and pre-fish before the event began at 11am. I ended up with 19 fish total (18 of them in the first 3 hours) with 1 bluegill and 18 bass - best fish measured in at: 16", 17", 18.5" and a fat 19.75".
A great day made even more memorable with various activities to keep the heroes and service members active. To top it all off, a couple of the volunteers were a couple that I knew from fishing in the saltwater with over the last couple of years. I was able to get them into a couple of extra kayaks and take them out for a couple of hours. Even coached them into a pocket of bass with the wife Beth hooking and landing her first ever largemouth measuring in at 16".
A great day......
A Fresh Approach....
Hope you enjoy the tale and the video!
