  • Striper Arm

You always know you had a good day when your thumb is cut all to hell from lipping fish. I.E.- Striper Thumb. You know you had an even better day when you have a rash on your arm from sticking your whole arm down their throat to remove the hook....i.e. - Striper Arm

Fished the ES of Virginia today. Pretty epic for 30 minutes. Caught 4 hard fighting, aggressive rock between two of us. Lost 4 more. I landed a 37, 40, and a 43. My buddy JC landed a 39 (and lost three). His just would not stay on for some reason. Tough luck. One of which literally straitened a hook and came unbottoned. Based on the fight (and hook) he was probably easily over 40.

The pics, with the exception of the obvious ones were taken by me. They suck but I was more worried with getting another fish than photography, but you get the idea.

Nice catch. Not many people are catching them like that from the yak.

Awesome !! Wonder if these fish were heading north . Were you there looking for drum ? I went down four times this year looking for stripers and came back with a big skunk. First time in 12 years . I think Hurricane Sandy kept them offshore . Nice going !!

Beautiful rockfish. I have not seen many reports of 43" fish from a kayak around here. Well done.

                    3-5 feet of water.

                    Thanks, all.
