I actually splashed the kayak in salty waters yesterday after a summer of mostly Potomac smallie fishing. Hooked up with CBKA friend, Steve who helped with some sponsor coordination for trout explorations down around the Piankatank. Looooong drive for me with medicore results. By the time I got there Steve had 3 puppy drum to 18" or so. I launched and we picked small stripers and snappers. Tried a few docks and Steve landed 2 nice trout (see pic). All I could manage was a couple white perch and one spike trout. Finished up with a few more small stripers and snapper blues. Great day to be on the water! I miss the salt air!!
