  • One undersized tog at CBBT - Stripers saved the Day (Dec 26, 2013)

I have 14 hours a day for fishing until January. This is the restriction my wife put on me when she is away. My dog can't hold (or suffers after) more than 14 hours according to her analogy. Though I know it's about 10-18 hours.

Driving 3 hours and 15 minutes for one way to CBBT, unloading and loading didn't yield much fishing time.
It's only an honor system when she is away. But some of my neighbors may mention some day that I came home late while she was away.

On Dec 26, I went CBBT (Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, VA) for Tautog. I caught only one undersized tautog for 4.5 hours.
On the way back to the shore I barely glanced the striper image on the fish finder. That was the only fish reading for the day.

    I caught about 10+ stripers @17-20" for 20 minutes.

Anyway I am heading for CBBT tomorrow (Dec 28, Sat) for 4-5 hour Tog fishing

      Ryan,
I am not sure if anyone is coming tomorrow. I hope I see some members tomorrow
I am going to go to one spot straight tomorrow. I hope I don't see stripers on the FF before I arrive the spot. If I see them, I will probably work on them instead of heading straight to the spot

There was a boat with four anglers yesterday. They took one of my spots minutes before me. So I headed for my second spot. after 30 minutes later, the same boat took my second spot. I was only 300' away from my spot. They caught about 14, about 10 were keeper at 16-18". I guess everyone knows the spot. I left before they left.

Each time they were re-baiting, they were cracking something on a block of thick plank (I assumed) with a 2X4. I thought they were cracking clams. But it can be something else (hermit crab???).

So I bought two dozen of medium size clams and clams are in the fridge for tomorrow

Wherever you are, good luck tomorrow!
