I made the last trip to CBBT (Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel) on Dec 28, 2013. My primary target fish was Tog (Tautog). I wanted a keeper tog in December so that I could set my own record - Catching tog every month except Jan, Feb and Aug.
I fished for tog for 4 hours without a bite. I had to go back to home early. On the way back to the shore from the 1st island, luckily I found a school of small stripers in 37-38' of water. I caught some stripers by jigging a 7" green albino Super Fluke (by Zoom).
At least I avoided getting skunked, i thought
Then, somehow I landed a tog at 21" on the same lure that worked well for stripers.
No, I didn't foul-hook the tog. The tog ate the 7' fluke (7" Mag Super Fluke, green albino by ZOOM + a 2 oz jig).
It was a pleasant surprise. Yes, where there's a will, there's a way
