Pohick bay 5/13 snakehead

Fished Pohick bay this morning and managed to catch one snakehead. Tried topwater for a while with absolutely no success. Guess it is still too early for topwater over there, was hoping to see a snakehead destroy a hollow body frog.

What did you catch the snakehead on?

Only thing I got any action on today was a solid body frog. Spent a few hours throwing hollow frogs and chatterbaits, wish I had switched to solid frog sooner.

It was definitely a very nice day on the 13th. I actually tried again on the 14th. Weather was not as nice, pretty rough and choppy in the morning. No luck on the snakeheads. Also paddled out to the channel for a little while. No luck there either. Wanted to see if I could catch a striper or a cat. Had one cat on but spit the hook quick.

Noticed there is a spot out in the middle--on the edge of the channel--where it must get really shallow really quick because I watched a boat wake turn from easily manageable into some pretty dangerous sized breakers. Careful out there in the channel, especially on a busy day.
