I was just thinking freezing them might help...but they will melt quickly in my soft cooler.

The round ones are tough, kinda like a clam. You can cut them and they will stay in chunks and will stay on the hook. Some people hang a couple over the side of their boats so the scent attracts the spades and also cut some in small pieces and throw them around the area in the water as chum.
You want to use the round "cannonball jellies":

Sometimes, if there are alot of jellyfish in the water, they won't eat anything else.Last edited by rwh; 08-21-2014, 05:44 PM.2013 WS Ride 135

Managed one spade yesterday. Almost hooked a second larger one on same piling. Small bluefish, croaker to 11", small seabass, and toads as usual.
I saw only one jellyfish the whole afternoon.
