Here is the setup for panfish I used successfully at Smithville Lake (could have been a fluke) anyway it was a size 10 bluegill bully (link to tying video: https://news.orvis.com/fly-fishing/v...luegill-spider)
Then I use a 1/2” indicator, the two shown are easy to install and adjust, about 12” above fly. When tying the fly I will use regular skirt material sometimes because it has more movement than the rubber legs. However; I do use both legs and skirts, the bluegill hit it almost immediately, Great and easy to tie fly.
