  • We're Tying These Tomorrow

Please join us tomorrow, 17 March, at the FSFF clubhouse in Davidsonville for our fly tying session from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

    https://www.facebook.com/FSFFMD

We will be tying these two flies which are intended for smallmouth bass but I have no doubt they will work on multiple tidal and freshwater species:

Just bring your vise and thread. The club will supply the hooks and materials. No charge.

Don't have a vise? We have a few spares you can borrow.

Not only will you get step-by-step fly tying instruction, you'll meet folks who love to fish, enjoy talking about fishing and know where to fish. That's free too!

Those will be great smallmouth flies.

Yep. We had a good turnout today. The flies were easy to tie.

I found out they were Harry Murray patterns, or modifications of them.

      Both are weighted.

I really like the yellow one with the rubber legs. I bet the SM will hit it on the drift in the current.

One of the tiers said he has used that same pattern for white and yellow perch.
