Anybody down for a fly fishing only M&G one weekend this year? I'll throw out some suggestions: Lehigh trout float, Susquehanna smallies, Potomac smallies, October schoolies.

As I've mentioned here before, I do not like upper Potomac or Susquehanna float trips in a kayak and I would forego them. However, I will gladly attend tidal kayak fly fishing outings for stripers. I also suggest that Eastern Shore ponds in DE and MD for bass and other panfish provide great fly fishing opportunities. So consider them too.
I am leading a striper trip to Goodhands Creek in October (date to be determined) for the Free State Fly Fishers (FSFF). All here are welcome to attend. But there is no reason Snaggedliners could not go sooner.
I will be leading the FSFF for white perch later this month (also date to be determined) in the Severn. The perch have to prove to me they're willing to cooperate before I schedule that one. Again, all here will be welcome or Snaggedliners can organize their own event. White perch are great fun on a fly rod.
So there are many kayak fly fishing opportunities locally and not too distant to hold such outings. I think it's a good idea and hope others here agree and we can get something started.Mark

Guys,
Winds and tides look favorable for a Saturday early morning launch.
Capture.PNGGH Saturday.jpg
I think GH fishes better on a high falling tide. High tide Saturday is 0750.
The next Saturday to provide favorable tides for which I'd be available is not until mid-July.
I would suggest getting there NLT than 0700. That should negate any excessive eastbound Bay Bridge traffic.
Note that GH is a favorite site of recreational crabbers. They will not interfere with us on the water but they may tie up parking and the ramp since it is a weekend. That's another reason to get there early.
Tom -- Your trailer will be fine. You will also need a Queen Anne's County launch permit. Note: That goes for all vehicles, even for those who cartop their kayaks. You can get that at Angler's just west of the Bay Bridge on eastbound Route 50. The cost is $10 for the day, or $35 for the year.
So...if one of more of you commit, I will be there Saturday. If not, we can go another day.
