  • Getting my fix in Maine

Just a short.report. near Jackman Maine from a canoe I finally got to use my heavy set up (8wt, bass taper) .for smallies
I caught them on Clouser and poppers......but the ostrich feather Clouser was the best till I lost it. You can't.really tell in this pic bit the lower half is white ostrich feather top.blue bucktail. They continued to hit other colors as well but not as hot and heavy though in.puc you can see they inhaled it!. Also caught a nice 16 on foam popper (all made by me)

Sadly, I am terrible at casting the clousers with the heavier eyes

              Congratulations Kevin.

Smallmouth are great fun on the fly, especially when you tie the flies yourself.

She has a knack for catching big smallmouth...... she caught a monster in northern Ontario a few days ago.
