  • Bullethead Darter -- Learn how to tie it this coming Saturday

All are invited to the Free State Fly Fishers' Davidsonville clubhouse this Saturday, 1 December, at 10:00 a.m. to learn directly from Joe Bruce, Bullethead Darter originator, how to tie this very effective fly.

The Bullethead Darter has a baitfish profile with an amazing pulsating action that makes it irresistible to many of the fish we pursue from our kayaks:

I've had particularly good success with it in Eastern Shore ponds for bass and pickerel:

Others have used it successfully in tidal waters.

This is a great opportunity to learn how to create your own "Go-To" fly when the other offerings in your fly box are not enticing a bite.

    Please join us.

I for one really got a lot out of the tying session with Joe. Need to attend more. Amazing what you get out of just talking to other members, great venue.

      Harry,

The FSFF folks appreciate your positive comments.

Indeed it's a great venue not only for fly tying but for sharing fishing locations, tactics and techniques.

Here's a photo of the very first Darter you tied:

Super job. You have a guaranteed pickerel catcher there.
