Memorial Day Kayak Fly Rod Popper Fishing

Hit a small lake this morning with the kayak, fly rod, and a small yellow popper. Caught small bass and bluegills/sunfish. The bass wanted the popper moving. The bluegills/sunfish wanted the popper sitting still. Fished around weed edges. Lost two bigger bass when they dove down and wrapped themselves in weeds. Saw lots of schools of little fish that I presumed to be bass. Saw lots of bluegills protecting beds. Saw a very large orange and white koi hanging out with an even larger regular carp. Had a beaver sneak up behind me and splash. Very nice morning to be on the water.

It's good to read that you're flinging your flyrod from the seat of your kayak.
