  • Waded a Small Flow Yesterday Evening

Biggest fish I have caught this summer.

    Popper bug fallfish.

Also caught about 5 or 6 green sunfish.

    Caught larger bass in April/May.

I don't think I've ever caught one of them, Tom.

      Looks like a big goldfish.

That's a river chub right? There are some nice ones in the upper patapsco and patuxent branches. Its like a warm water trout but make noises when you remove the hook. I caught some monster ones on the little patuxent upstream of savage mills.

I think it is a Fallfish. Like PigPen says, I run into lots of them in the flows near my home. Basically a very big minnow. Haha.

Most likely a Fallfish. The creek chubs usually don't get that big and usually have a darker stripe on their side.

The first time I caught one, I was a rookie trout fisherman. I saw a school of them on Deer Creek and thought that I hit the mother lode of trout.
I hooked one on a fly, set the hook like I was bass fishing and launched the fish 30 feet over my head!
