Pickerel on the Severn

Got out for a couple of hours before the nasty weather sets in. Found some Pickerel on a Severn River Tributary. Landed a nice 17" on my Blue/White Bendback fly. The same one I was using Sunday.

Ran into a friend-Don Vance- who was using minnows, he managed a nice 23"(?).

Later I switched to throwing a spinner with a yellow twister tail and landed a nice 21"

We both did well, Don got 14 and I managed 7. Fun afternoon before the rain tonight.

Yes, you do! They'll hit streamers now. As the water warms in spring, I toss poppers at them.

Pickerel are excellent flyrod fish...and most other ways you want to fish for them for that matter!
