Yesterday I was teleworking from home and learned that the weather was going to get rainy and colder for the next few days. So I decided to hit a local flow with the tenkara fly rod. I did a little research and discovered that a few places not far away had been stocked with trout by the DNR 2 weeks ago. I wrapped up my work at 4:45 PM and was in the car driving to the river by 5 PM. By 5:15 PM I was parked and putting on my waders.
I had the river all to myself, so goal #1 was achieved.
Goal #2 was to catch a fish on the tenkara rod, but I failed at that.
I did enjoy being outdoors. No wind. Crystal clear water.
I had 2 bites on the fly, but no hookups with the fish.
Here is a photo of the river.
Here is a photo of the flies I tied.
It really was a nice way to spend the last hour before sunset. I fished for 45 minutes and then hiked back to the car.
