  • Casting float

I picked up a Chinese collapsible rod for my vintage Shimano b100 baitcaster. Just to have a back pack casting rod. I tied on a bluegill bully and a casting float, giving myself about a 3 foot leader. The BG were quite happy...caught about 6 beauties like this one, and an 8 inch LMB. Felt good to get back out...the "carbon fiber" rod broke about 1 foot down when I caught this "beast"...you get what you pay for....

    Good for you Chip.

Dropper flies are incredibly effective for panfish and may surprise you with even larger catches.

    Lots of fun.
