The Bendback Minnow is a streamer fly that will catch most species we discuss on this forum.

I use it mainly to target pickerels in heavy cover. However, I have caught the following with it: white and yellow perch, stripers, largemouth bass, crappies, bluegills and even a lizard fish.
It's weightless and rides with the hookpoint up. It's therefore almost weedless. Bendbacks cast well into gaps in surface vegetation. It's especially good at this time of year for casting into fallen leaves on the water. It rarely hangs up.
The Free State Fly Fishers will host a Bendback tying session at its Davidsonville clubhouse at 10:00 a.m. this coming Saturday.

If you'd like to attend as a guest of the club, no charge, of course, please let me know via PM.
Thank you,
