  • Delaware Pond Results

I hit a popular Delaware pond yesterday with my buddy- Gary Gray. I wanted to target panfish and bass, so I started with my 5Wt and a dropper rig. Fish didn’t like it, so I switched to a #10 Black Wooly Bugger and started getting results with some small Blue Gills. I even managed a couple small Pickerel, plus a couple of Crappie.

Moved to some new locations and decided to throw some poppers. The fish were active on the surface. Caught a few more small pickerel, plus a LMB.

It was a fun day, even with the cool air blowing from the west-glad the sun was out strong. I thoroughly enjoyed catching several species on different flies. Hope the sizes increase.

    Thanks for the report, John.

You did well under the circumstances.

I think your first pick was a candidate for our smallest pickerel contest.

I'm heading east tomorrow myself for a pond outing.

I wish this chilly air would depart. The weather has not been ideal for a good bite. But I'm going anyway.
