I do best with a lighter green body...but yeah it was a killer in June. Here is a video on the pattern.....done by a Maryland flytier. Savage Flies is a great fly tying site. The guy that does them lives in Charles Co. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3miZSoGZJMcOriginally posted by DanMarino View PostVery cool. Great to see more fly fishing posts on here. That's a neat looking fly.Last edited by kevinfry; 09-13-2022, 12:53 PM.14.5 ft Sand colored Malibu X-Factor "the promise"

kevinfry,
Thank you for posting a fly fishing thread.
Nice catches and excellent variety.
Congrats on using your own flies. That makes your catches extra special.
I visited Gifford Pinchot several times in the early 2000s, staying at the furnished cabins in the campground. My friends and I had some great two and three-day trips there.
This was in my pre-kayak days when I had small aluminum V-Hull boat with an electric trolling motor.
I should return with my kayak. I remember the productive areas very well -- the rocky structure near the dam and the surface vegetation in the upper portion of the lake.
Did you have to buy a PA state park launch permit for your kayak? As I recall, I needed to get a PA launch sticker for my boat even though it was registered in MD.

My son used to live right near Redmond.....I never caught a bass or bluegill there.....just below it is lake Lake Williams (there are two dams in succession) and I have done very good thereOriginally posted by gliebig View PostGood lookin feeshes!
Looks like you have some time on PA waters. Whenever I drive by Lake Redman, I always think about giving it a try. Have you fished there? Any good?14.5 ft Sand colored Malibu X-Factor "the promise"
