When the wind is blowing straight into my face I have a terrible time getting the leader to turn over and lay the fly out straight. What can I do for good fishing experience?

Alter your casting stroke to keep your fly line closer to the water when the wind is in your face. Don't come forward with the rod tip high. Keep it low. Casting side-armed will help you do that.
Also, make sure your leader and tippet are heavy enough to handle the fly you are casting. That goes for all wind conditions, but it's especially true when casting into the wind and when using large wind-resistant flies.
And...come to the Free State Fly Fishers casting clinic on 8 October in Davidsonville!
Good luck.
