Over the last 2 weeks my son has been catching some pike. Don't ask me where. He's 23, works a lot of hours, and doesn't have much time to fish. He also works lots of weekends. He was off work on Sunday and he took me to his special location. We fished for about 2.5 hours and caught about 15 fish between us. My son landed 3 northern pike and a bunch of largemouth bass. I had one pike on, but it came off. I caught 6 or 7 largemouth bass. Most of them were under 12 inches. I lost a very big bass that I did a poor hookset on while using a plastic worm. We caught fish on the following lures.
1. Blue Fox in-line spinner - size 3
2. Safety pin style spinner with one of John Veil's famous fat sam mullet soft plastics.
3. Whopper plopper
4. Curly tail rubber worm that was about 7 inches long.
It's always a lot of fun fishing with my son.
