Thanks guys! Hopefully I'll catch a keeper size for the frying pan soon.

If your spinners are good enough to catch reservoir walleye I bet you could do great on the Potomac

Where on the Potomac, and for what? The spinners I tie are the same as what I grew up using for walleye back in South Dakota. We caught mostly walleye and yellow perch, but once in a while got silver (white) bass also. The only fish we wanted to catch were walleye, perch were just a bait stealing aggravation...we kept a few bass to give the neighbors.

Good to know, might have to search them out.

No disrespect but I would tie some rigs with quality gear. Inward eye hooks and such are not gonne help

If you tie similar rigs with owner mosquito hooks I guarantee you better results. Very thin profile and very sharp. Worth every penny. Also, have you tried inflating your crawlers and I would hook the crawler closer to the nose for better action

I haven't put a lot of time in walleye fishing. But I know that the more natural a worm looks in the water the better your chances. The closer you hook the nose of the worm the more natural it's gonna look.

The quality of components is not a problem. I like inward and outward eye hooks for these, those Owner hooks wouldn't hang right with the eye that straight.

I hook the worm in the nose; I'm trying to get my daughters to do it "right", but they are still learning.

Thanks for the criticism, I don't know how many thousands of walleye I've caught tying them like this...and on worse hooks.

Wasn't trying to insult you. Just had great results with the little owner hooks

Saying "No disrespect" makes you sound like a superior know it all. Cowpokey's results are great. He's catching unicorns in what can be a very frustrating fishery.

I'm just a stickler for sharp hooks. I'm constantly sharpening

I think you just guaranteed me a skunk next time out.

                              LOL, thanks for the compliment.

I only use sharp hooks. I just don't see the need to spend twice as much as needed for components that work just as well. BPS store brand hooks work well for most of my creations. I have a lot of Mustad and Gamakatsu hooks that I use tying flies, but more store brand than name brand in that arena too.
