As an " Older Kayaker" anticipating that I will not be getting younger, I went with the Hulavator Pro. I liked the lift assist and was not sure about the 75lb weight limit. After 1.5 years in use, I believe the weight limit only applies to the % of lift assist boasted. I had a Jackson Cuda 14 - 80 lbs, and now a Hobie LE - 78lbs ?, Have hi speed miles on both, don't use the bow and stern tie downs and have never experienced any problems even at 80 mph for over 2 hours. As long as I perfect my clean and jerk motion on the initial lift, I see no problems in the foreseeable future.
