I finally ended up cutting about 6 inches off the bottom of a small cat litter bucket and secuered that in my hull. Now I just drop the waterproof battery box in that slot, wedge tightly with a short piece of pool noodle, plug in, clean the cat poop off my deck and go.
How did u secure it to the hull

I originally tried to duct seal the short bucket to the bottom of my hull, but did not like the set up. Then I noticed that right inside my front hatch was the mounting bolts for a Railblaza Starpoint Mount. I unbolted the mount, drilled 2 holes in the bucket and attached it to the backside of that mount with larger washers ( I may have used longer SS bolts). The hatch still latches with the 2 Garmin cables running to my FF. After 3 years I still have not put a hole in my deck for the cables because I have had no issues with this set up.

        Gorilla glue did the trick

This might help with getting glue to stick to your kayak. the video is for painting poly but holds true for epoxy and glue also.

Heavy duty Velcro has held mine for a few years with no signs of letting up.
